Die Mitarbeit in EU-Gremien wie dem Europäischen GAP-Netzwerk und der strategischen Arbeitsgruppe AKIS (Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems) für den ständigen Ausschuss für EU-Agrarforschung ermöglicht es, die Erfahrungen aus der Umsetzung europäischer Gesetze, Richtlinien und Verordnungen sowie von spezifischen Fördermaßnahmen einzubringen. Die Zusammenarbeit mit EU-Institutionen (Kommission, Rat und EU-Parlament) und weiteren Organisationen und Verbänden ermöglicht intensiven Austausch auf Arbeitsebene.
Über die VLK-Gremienarbeit in den Fachausschüssen „Ländliche Entwicklung, Raumordnung und Ressourcenschutz“ und „Unternehmensführung und Beratung“ sowie den Arbeitskreis „Frau und Familie in der Landwirtschaft und im ländlichen Raum“ findet ein intensiver Informations- und Wissensaustausch statt. Regelmäßige Workshops der EU-Koordinatoren erweitern die Möglichkeiten, verschiedene EU-Projektförderungen zu nutzen.
Im Begleitausschuss Nationaler GAP-Strategieplan (BGA-NSP) arbeitet der VLK aktiv mit.
Über das Netzwerk der deutschsprachigen Agrarier in Brüssel „AGRICOLOS“ werden laufend neue Netzwerkkontakte zwischen den verschiedenen EU-Organisationen, Bundes- und Landesinstitutionen sowie Verbänden geschaffen. Der Arbeitskreis Landwirtschaft der deutschsprachigen Regionen in Brüssel bietet zudem regelmäßigen fachlichen Austausch zu aktuellen agrarpolitischen Themen mit der EU-Kommission und dem Europaparlament.
Der Verband der Landwirtschaftskammern ist ein Partner im Projekt modernAKIS. Gemeinsam mit der Universität Hohenheim wird der Verband der Landwirtschaftskammern in dieser EU geförderten Koordinierungs- und Unterstützungsaktion Deutschland Angebote zur Verbesserung seines AKIS-Systems unterbreiten. Das voneinander Lernen und Netzwerken im europäischen Kontext spielt dabei eine wichtige Rolle.
Der Verband der Landwirtschaftskammern ist Gründungsmitglied des European Forum for Agricultural and Rural Advisory Services (EUFRAS).

Participation in EU bodies such as the European GAP Network and the strategic working group AKIS (Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems) for the Standing Committee on EU Agricultural Research makes it possible to contribute experience from the implementation of European laws, directives, and regulations as well as specific funding measures. The interaction with EU institutions (Commission, Council and EU Parliament) and other organizations and associations enables intensive exchange at working level.
TThere is an intensive exchange of information and knowledge through the VLK committee work in the expert committees "Rural Development, Regional Planning and Resource Protection" and "Business Management and Consulting" as well as the working group "Women and Family in Agriculture and Rural Areas". Regular workshops of the EU coordinators broaden the possibilities to use different EU project funding.
The VLK actively participates in the Monitoring Committee National CAP Strategic Plan (BGA-NSP).
Through the network of German-speaking agriculturalists in Brussels "AGRICOLOS", additional network contacts between the various EU organizations, federal and state institutions and associations are created continuously. The working group Agriculture of the German-speaking regions in Brussels also offers regular professional exchange on current agricultural policy issues with the EU Commission and the European Parliament.
The Association of Chambers of Agriculture is a partner in the modernAKIS project. Together with the University of Hohenheim, the Association of Chambers of Agriculture will make offers to Germany to improve its AKIS system in this EU-funded coordination and support action. Learning from each other and networking in a European context plays an important role.
